How a Beijing Cancer Second Opinion Enquiry Works

Acceptance comes before record transfer.

Acceptance comes before record transfer

Start by asking the hospital whether it accepts your type of international second-opinion inquiry. Confirm whether it can review remotely, requires the patient in person or permits another arrangement. Practices vary: PKUPH currently states a limitation on international telemedicine in its own FAQ.

Identify who will conduct the clinical review and what will be delivered. Ask whether the scope is a records consultation, pathology review, multidisciplinary discussion or another service. These are different requests. A reply to a general inquiry is not acceptance for treatment, a trial or a particular drug.

Questions to keep with your plan

  • Receiving hospital and reviewer identified
  • Remote, representative or in-person format verified
  • Records list obtained from receiving team
  • Patient consent and transfer channel agreed
  • Written deliverable and limitations specified
  • Timeline and fees confirmed by provider

Use the interactive visit checklist to record which administrative details you have confirmed. A checked item does not represent a clinical assessment or a confirmed hospital booking.
